Greenopedia
In 2018, On the occasion of 'World Biodiversity Day', we launched our
website 'Greenopedia'. It is a collection of information of 80+ plant species present inside the
institute. It will help you to get a wider insight about these species and their different parts. Do
visit to explore more about floral diversity of our campus.
Transplanation
Once the sapling is mature enough to grow by their own, we transplant them
to various places in the institute. Recently, we have had a plantation drive in hostel 6 and hostel
9 on the occasion of 'World Environment Day'.
Prakriti
It is a forum to share interesting factual and practical information about
nature. If you love gardening and would like to know some unique features of mother nature, do
follow our blog and join our Prakriti google group..
A Sapling a Wing
A Sapling a Wing focuses on the ecological and environmental value of
plants and motivates hostel inmates to nurture plants in their own wings. This year we conducted
this activity in hostel 2, 3, 4, and 9.

Vanmahotsav
Van Mahotsav is a week long forest festival in order to promote plantations
and create awareness about adverse effects of deforestation. We carried out bottle plantation
activities for KV and campus school children, thus motivating future generation to save environment
Sapling Collection Drive
Under the canopy of large trees, we encountered many small saplings. We
collected such saplings from different parts of institute and transplanted them in the covers in our
nursery.
Plantation in Coconuts
People usually drink coconut water and throw them. We collect these waste
coconuts and plant saplings of various species such as Balsam, Sadaphuli, and small cuttings in
them.
Green Diwali
In a first-of-its-kind activity, we made eco-friendly "diyas" using fruit
peels. Our volunteers also spread the message of celebrating eco-friendly Diwali as shown in the
pictures below.
Nature Walk
e had our first experience of Nature Walk in year 2017 with the kids of NGO
Vidya. Last year we had our nature walk with NGO LCCWA. We showed them various plants and trees
growing in along the main road and inside the Main Nursery. Their inquisitiveness and enthusiasm was
mesmerizing!
Reusing Waste
Accounting to the harmful effects of plastic, we came up with an idea of
planting beautiful saplings in waste plastic bottles and reused them. We also reused waste bamboo
for creating fence.
Flex Cover Making
Many events take place in insti all the time, and lot of sponsorship is
involved in them. The sponsors mainly advertise using flex banners. But after the fest is over,
these banners have no use and are treated as waste. We at Green Campus reuse and make flex covers
out of them to plant saplings and seeds in our nursery.
Biodiversity Mapping
This year, we extended bio-mapping activity all over the institute. We
mapped over 1000 plants in various parts of the campus and hanged placards on them. We nearly
covered all the areas in the institute except hostels and academic area. In the coming year, we
shall be covering them as well.
Vrikshabandhan
On the occasion of Rakhi, the love and affection that binds brother to
sister, and vice-versa. We celebrate Vrikshabandhan to protect our trees by collaborating with
campus residents celebrates Vrikshabandhan - a bond of love between us and the trees.
